Beautiful preteen

I’ve decided that I enjoy photographing preteens as much as the little ones, if not more. They are at that stage where so many exciting things are right around the corner in their lives, but they are still somewhat innocent and almost always feel a bit awkward in front of the camera. They want to be cool and beautiful, but at heart they are really still children. That awkwardness translates to images that are so natural and expressions that are real - no rock-star smiles, no sexy poses (ones that are usually over the top for any teenager in my opinion), just honesty. I loved photographing this girl. She is so beautiful, inside and out…..and can you believe, at the beginning of the shoot she said, “I don’t take good pictures.” HA! Love you, B!

I am SO excited about the Christmas card designs that I have chosen for this year! A HUGE thanks to Jamie at Jame Schultz Designs for doing such a fantastic job.

All of the COLORS and text in these designs are editable, so I can change them to meet your preferences as needed. If a card is brown and you want red - we can make it happen! I can also add a background color is the background is white. We are already half way through November (I know, I’m a little late on these this year!), so let me know as soon as possible which design you would like to send to friends, family and colleagues.

Babies, babies everywhere

There has been a baby boom lately it seems, and I’ve had so much fun photographing these little sweethearts. This one arrived a bit early. You may recognize mom from her maternity session not too long ago.

This beautiful family was a referral from another client (thanks, “A.C.”) and they were so excited about the new little girl in their family. She was so beautiful, but did NOT want to go to sleep! I guess she didn’t want to miss any of the action! After about two hours, sleepiness finally took over and we got some super-sweet poses from this young lady.

This mom-to-be and I hit it off right from the start, with an initial phone call that lasted over an hour! She was so much fun to photograph, and her husband was a total trooper for his shots, too. This little baby (girl!) is going to have two great parents. Mom is on bed rest for the rest of her pregnancy, so I hope this Sneak Peek will help cheer her up! Thank you so much for letting me capture this special moment in your lives.

Another beautiful newborn

How amazingly precious is this little guy? He was three weeks old when I visited him and his mom and grandma for portraits, and he was all of those three weeks. It took an hour and a half for Mom to get him to sleep! Isn’t it usually the opposite - we just HOPE that we get a wide-awake shot……we just kept hoping that he would go to sleep! HA! Thanks so much, Mom, for your patience - it totally paid-off! This one was extra special - he has something in common with my little guy (*wink*wink*). Thank you again, Mom C. for the honor of photographing your little E. man!

I had so much fun photographing these twin sisters. They just turned six, and it was very important to their Mom to get portraits made of them while they still look like “little girls!” Before long, they will start losing their teeth and these innocent days of childhood will turn into the preteen years! I was so happy to capture these precious personalities for her to treasure forever. We got some great shots with their beautiful mom, as well. I’m so excited to share this sneak-peek with her!

This is one of my favorites. It shows how DIFFERENT these sisters really look - it really highlights their individuality.

Dallas Beauties | Houston Children’s Photographer

I was in Dallas last weekend……and it rained like crazy on Saturday. But I have to say, even with the rain, my hair looked FABULOUS!! What a difference no humidity makes! It ALMOST makes me want to move to Dallas.

Almost.

On Sunday, I had the pleasure of photographing these beautiful sisters. The overcast skies acted like a giant softbox, and we got some super-cute shots.
